Recognition at CMDA2020 Awards!
LONDON, UK 31/12/2020 - Great news for the year beginning: Nelson Ebo's online presence and activity in 2020 with Art Songs in collaboration with Belgian composer Dimitri Arnauts, have been nominated, shortlisted and finally received a high commendation in the category 'Best Digital Project for a Musician' at the UK's Classical Music Digital Awards 2020. Nelson feels blessed and grateful for this humbling recognition, and for the laudatory words about his digital projects and collaborations by the ceremony host and organizer, emerging UK classical music reference and acclaimed industry adviser David Taylor (listed Forbes '30under30'):
"These ones totally took my breath away: inspiring symphonic Art Songs and corresponding video creations, all made remotely with other virtually live artists from various backdrops. The most wonderful and beautiful cinematic things to watch! But, the songs have also been paired with social issues, being Black Lives Matter, Solidarity between races and colors, African Independence and the tragic legacy of Slave Trade in the past and present times... a wonderful series of videos that each tackle their own social topic... they're fantastic!" David Taylor, Award Ceremony Host
Selected from a pool of more than 600 nominated projects worldwide, other nominees, commended and CMDA2020 Award winning music bodies and individuals included : the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment, Voces8, New York Youth Symphony, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish Orchestra, pianist Igor Levit, the Gesualdo Six, Style Antico, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic and many others.
All of the songs are part of the collaborative Art Song project 'Quarantunes', which can be viewed here on Dimitri Arnauts' website.
Nelson Ebo expresses his deep gratitude and enthusiasm with receiving this recognition, and warmly thanks the organizers of the Awards.
